Make Your Own (MYO) was launched in 2020 with the aim of making crafting more accessible to everyone, regardless of background or skill level.

Digital transformation and research led design
Before I joined, the team at MYO was focused on growing their Shopify store and marketing DIY kits alongside how-to videos. As lead product designer, I built on this foundation by redesigning their e-commerce platform and ideating and designing a new community platform. I worked strategically, conducting user surveys and leading workshops to define a product roadmap aimed at delivering lean, efficient updates. Through research-driven design, we created a community platform that enabled MYO to move to a subscription-based service, create new revenue streams and digitise written instructions with modular components.
This digital transformation helped to significantly increase community engagement and social media growth, with 500 new followers per week. The e-commerce redesign also improved user experience and conversion rates, resulting in an overall growth rate of 320%.
